Hearts Wide Open

EMIC Sunday Morning Services 1&2 10/09/2011

During Praise and Worship I had this thought:
What if I didn't just hear and mentally assent to Mark 16 but actually lived it?

Mark 16:15-18
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

I thought to myself... Why am I allowing miracles to be a church thing? Stephen and Phillip didn't regulate these things to only the leaders. I am going to start asking God for opportunities to pray for people and expect his Power to manifest through my life. Really praying for them isn't exactly it either. Jesus didn't "Pray" for the sick, he cast the sickness out. He commanded the sickness to leave. I must start forging a mindset of authority instead of a mindset of lack.

Pastor Chris Wilder: Tithe and Offering
Jeremiah 17:5-8
5 Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. 7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fearwhen heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

A man who trusts in natural things will be so bound by them that he won't even see when good comes knocking on his door. A man who trusts in God will know there is a drought but won't be touched by it.

Note to self:
This is like I've been hearing from gardeners about our trees and grass here in Texas. Good trees during a drought will simply dig deeper and find underground sources of water and nutrient. The trees that were watered too much grow shallow roots and die in drought. Over watering is harmful for the trees and grass. The more you water them the more they require due to the development of shallow roots.

Pastor George talks about this later when he says that we cannot simply inhale all the time we must also exhale to be healthy. So we take in faith and faith and faith in church, we must go out to the world and exhale power, authority, dominion, healing, prosperity... "The Gospel" into the world around us...End Note.

Note to Self:
Is praying for 8 hours straight once a week a "Waste" of time? If you dedicated one day a weeks work schedule to praying and meditating on the Word, would that be "Unproductive"? Religiously/Mentally I would have to answer no. However in reality that is how I treat prayer and meditating on the Word. I treat them as things to be done, crossed off my checklist, before I get to "Serious" work like writing a book or posting for one of the blogs. I must learn to value my time in the Word and Prayer ABOVE all else, not just with lip service, but with actual value and purposeful time! End Note.

Pastor George Pearsons
Sunday AM Notes I made from what was said:

We are all called to the World! We need to become outreach minded. What impact are you making on the World around you? Pray through what impact you can have in your domain/dominion. We all have a domain/dominion that we influence. Every one of us, weather called to the five fold ministry or not, have a ministry and a sheepfold/congregation. We all have a sphere of influence.

Begin to get focused on your own personal ministry. How can you connect with your domain and the people within your sphere of influence?

Note to self:
Consider your websites your ministry assignments. Also consider, family, co-workers, customers, strangers in the marketplace you shop, part of your assignment. They may never hear, do the rules on the job, "Churchy" things come out of you but there will be something about the way you live that compels people to ask you about who you are and what got you this way.

Don't treat these websites as things you do to pass the time to "feel productive" take a more purposeful look at what you spend your time doing. These are part of the dominion/domain you have been given a sphere of influence over. Prayerfully consder what you spend your time doing and why. Is it being built to make a few dollars? Is it some sort of a business scheme to make a buck? Or are you doing it in order to allow the purpose and plan of God to be unfolded in peoples lives and free them from this worlds system and deliver them into the Kingdom of God!?! End Note

We are light in this world. The greek word light is Phos. This is the same root of the word we use today: Phosphorescence.
Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorifyyour Father which is in heaven.

We are the Phos of God!

Pastor George tells the story of when he went to the circus for the first time and saw all the kids in the dark swinging their glow in the dark toys. He just had to have one and it worked for many years. Just like that that toy we do not glow unless we have been exposed to the LIGHT. Once exposed to the light we can go into a dark world and shine with the light we were exposed to for a time. The only way we continue to shine for Jesus is to get back into his presence and soak up more light. Only saved people can remit this light because we have been created as new creatures that have the ability to absorb and reflect this LIGHT of Heaven!

Word of the Lord through Pastor George:

MOBILIZE THE TROOPS!

Faith is to be used on behalf of others. We breath faith. To breath in without exhaling is to die. We must exhale faith toward others.

Note:
For me, writing is an avenue of exhale. So is talking to people I meet and sharing the love of God with them. When I fail to do these, I feel dead inside... like someone who breathed in and forgot to breath out.

My Wife heard some people talking about cases where peoples hearts stop during sleep. She was reminded that this is where the idea of falling in your dreams come from. The body acknowledges that your breath or heart have stopped. The body goes into a reboot mode and floods your body with adrenaline or other chemicals of alertness. It is perceived by the mind as falling from a high place. This experience is nearly universal, most people have experienced it from time to time.

Forgetting to exhale faith is just as damaging and the spirit will attempt to resuscitate itself as well. This can be perceived as a sense of unease, distaste for present circumstances,  need to meet new people... etc... Get alone with God and then get that out to others. Preach to the wall if you need to start there but start somewhere. Start exhaling. Only through the use of knowledge can we gain understanding in it. Otherwise we are ever hearing and never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

Tools of our trade:
Hands are a tool of the believer to bring healing to the sick. Money can be a tool that open the heart to hear the truth.

Isaiah 6:1-8
Here am I , Send me!

This must become our hearts cry! SEND ME FATHER! Every morning, part of our prayer must become to see people's lives changed by the Word and Spirit of God!

Pastor Rod Parsley used to say:
"The apex of all Christian endeavor must become: To place the jewel of a soul in the crown of our King; to The Lamb the reward of his suffering!"

Pastor George:
Ask the Lord: Who do you want me to Disciple?

John Maxwell in his book Developing the Leader Within You
The most introverted person in the world touched approximately 10,000 people before he leaves this earth.

Note: In 4.5 years at a call center I talked to 66,503 people before I left. WOAH! I'm going to have touched a lot more before I leave this earth!

So given that you will touch so many, wouldn't you prefer to be purposeful about it? What would happen if we were intentional and prayerful about the impact we had day to day in our lives?

If you frequent certain stores, Walmart,  gas stations, banks, etc... Get to know the staff there by name. Earn the right to ask if you can pray for them.

2nd Service Additions to note:

The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!
The Further we go the further we get!

Pastor Scott Allen: Tithe and Offering
2 Corinthians 9
All Grace Abound toward you! Give Joyfully! If you have resistance or grudging to your giving just stop right there. Don't give in that attitude. Go before the Lord, get that straightened out with Him! Remember that HE is not your problem HE is your solution. Once you are able to give joyfully, and you can be in Joy while feeling sad, then participate. That Joy will create a harvest that will impact more than just you!

Discipleship classes are coming to EMIC, training for future five fold ministries are coming, just like a college course track where you can know from the beginning which classes you are to take and when you will complete the course selections. Be on the look out for these around the first of 2011, provided there are no delays.

Riley Stephens is a man of God who knows soul winning. If you want to develop this aspect of your spiritual walk, hook up with and into this man!
