Change: It's harder than you thought and better than you imagined

I'm at the tail end of an end and the head of a beginning.

After 7 years in Nort Texas (Fort Worth), we moved. We spent the last few months getting the house ready to sell, selling the house, and moving. A week (03/19 - 03/24) was spent on the road and since then we lived in a hotel until we could find a place to live.

On Friday (03/31/17), we moved into our new house (rental). We're still unpacking, building storage shelves, figuring out to live with a basement for washer/dryer (odd).

We just found a store (EntertainmentMart) that sells games, Pokemon cards, and more. They allow the kids and adults to come play against each other live every Monday and Wed. So the kids are now adjusting.

There are things I already really enjoy about North Idaho... some of the transitions were easier than others.

Some things didn't go the way I wanted and some things went better. I just needed to learn to flow, slow down, breath, and listen... it's always about listening to the Holy Spirit.

Well... that's my update for now. I'll write more later.

News flash: Moving Update

We accepted an offer on the house for $160,000.00 cash. We are expected to close on 03/17/17, provided all goes well. We'll be moving to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and leaving between 03/17-03/20.

Almost There... 3... 2... 1... Go!

Almost there... Almost ready to sell this house. We have a few things to finish then we can list the house for sale. Then the new adventure starts in Idaho.

I don't know what to expect, only that things are so very, very, different now. My wife and I are in love, and communicating in ways I didn't know were possible. My heart is free in profound ways. My relationship with my boys has improved exponentially.

And there is this... subtle... whisper? I have no words for it yet, but it's saying: "Come", or something to that effect. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; here we come... almost.

2016 - 2017 The Winds of Change

2016 was the worst year of my life. I almost went back to an old life, partially did.

Earlier this week, I came within a breath of making decisions that would have led to the destruction of a family, and ultimately my spiritual then physical death.

But God....

Last night (Friday night), God used Flavia (my wife) to break through the walls.

For the first time in my 36 years on planet earth, I know I'm going to be OK. I'm OK with not being OK, and now I'm going to be.

He used her to heal me. And now I have to help heal the pain I've caused her for 14 years.

It will be a journey, but one worth taking with her by my side.

I am "In Love" with Flavia A. Wolfe, and I want the world to know it.

I'm looking forward to 2017, really really looking forward to what miracles God has in store for this family this year.

First round of critiques for Distortion Scene 1 "Street Noise"

One of the scariest things for most authors (especially fiction authors) to do is open their work to the blatant critique of others. The author got to know their work so well, they know the backstory (that never made it onto the page), etc.


This very intimacy makes them blind to the things the reader sees immediately.

As Ernest Hemingway famously said, “The first draft of anything is *crap.”

I put out the 1st scene of Distortion, "Street Noise", for a writers critique. It was quite illuminating. I chose not to take it personally but learn from each point. Some things I agreed with, some I didn't. Some were clear craft mistakes while others were stylistic choices I could take or leave.

I have a feeling that my re-write will be so much better due to this experience. I also found a critique buddy (Hey Ashleigh!) who I can work with as I go through re-writes.

I left the #GOP forever and it has nothing to do with Donald Trump.

#Election2016 Clarification:

I heard another talk radio guy (Grant Stinchfield) jump on the Trump Train this morning... another person claiming to be a conservative who is so blinded by his hate for Hillary Clinton, he cannot see that the devil he chose is worse than the one he rejects.

Hillary and Obama combined couldn't harm this country as bad as Trump could. That's what worries me most about this coming election. But here's the thing Grant doesn't get. He thinks I'm voting for Gary Johnson because of Trump.

First Draft First Novel... Done! On to Edits...

So... I completed the first draft of my short novel White Noise - The Tower (Episode 1). 

You can read it (warts and all) below. I'm going to go back through and start editing (I already have). But it's mostly done now. I've also roughed out a book cover (we'll see if I stick with this direction).

Of course, I'm taking a big risk by calling it "Episode 1"... that means I have to write Episode 2, 3, & 4 at least. (That's where I have the story sketched out to at this point.

After much thought, review, and internal debate this past 12 months. I have taken a stand. I endorse Gary Johnson, Libertarian, for President of the United States of America. I will be voting Libertarian at every level (President, Senator, Mayor, School Board... etc) in November 2016.

I ask you to support a common sense approach, and to run from the Tyranny of Donald Trump AND Hillary Clinton (and their parties).

When men and women are free from government and corporate interference, they are the happiest and more prosperous people.

You and I may have honest intellectual disagreements on the moral quality of one choice or another, and we can debate and discuss those choices openly and freely in a free society.

However, as long as you are not harming my person or property, and I am not harming your person or property, we should not attempt to control each other through government force. We should each be free to walk away from that discussion without the government dictating which of us is right.
