Shin also stands for the word Shaddai, a name for God. Because of this, a kohen (priest) forms the letter Shin with his hands as he recites the Priestly Blessing. In the mid 1960s, actor Leonard Nimoy used a single-handed version of this gesture to create the Vulcan hand salute for his character, Mr. Spock, on Star Trek.[2]

Shekinah, Shechinah, Shechina, or Schechinah (Hebrew: שכינה; Arabic: السكينة), is the English transliteration of a Hebrew noun meaning dwelling or settling, and denotes the dwelling or settling of the Divine Presence of God.
So... I was watching the above links video. I was thinking to myself... Shaddai (the name of God). Shalom (Peace/Blessing: Nothing Missing Nothing Broken Everything Whole and Complete). Shechinah (The Holy Spirit, who IS The Presence of God).
Every time the Vulcan greeting has been invoked, it was invoking a deeper truth. One that was built into our cores. The fact it was also used in a Jewish call to prayer/blessing gives it more depth and root. Vulcan, at it's essence, is a modern science fiction retelling of the Orthodox Jewish Story. Mankind, attempting to overcome his fallen nature, and rise above it.
We, who are In Him, are full of The Presence that visited ancient Israel, and temporarily dwelt in the Temple.
This truth is even more powerful and true for we who are full of the Shekinah Himself.
I've always been fascinated with Vulcans, preferring them among the other alien species of the Star Trek series. I have a deeper sense of appreciation for them now.
