Our War in Prayer

Our War

Ephesians 6
We place on the armor not in order to go out toward war, but rather to stand. Stand where, why? To stand against the tactics of the enemy. Have you noticed that Prayer is the last thing on the list after all of the armor. This is because ONLY after we are properly equipped can we pray effectively! We don't do battle with anything physical. We do battle in the Spirit and we do it, primarily, through prayer! (2 Cor 10)

Waist Girded with Truth
I am the way, the truth, and the light... no one comes to the father except by me. Jesus set the standard for truth. Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Without it you cannot have wisdom or truth, only facts and reason. Which don't get you very far. Your prayer will be meaningless unless you first know Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, second base your prayer on His Word, and third seek his will in all situation. If you don't know the will of God for a sick person, don't pray for them. Go to prayer by yourself, find the will of God on that, and then go pray the will of God! Truth must be known BEFORE prayer can be effective. Only knowing truth about something gives you the structure and strength in your core/inner spirit to pray with power and conviction. Submit to God, then you will learn from Him, then you will know truth, then you will be free.

Breastplate of Righteousness
The knowledge of your standing with and before God is crucial to your prayer life. You cannot pray if you feel guilty before God. You cannot pray effectively if you are not confident before God. You must know that there is NO condemnation in you and that you have been MADE the righteousness of God. Only then will you heart be protected from attacks of the enemy. It is Jesus breastplate you wear, not your own. It is HIS righteousness that you operate in. When attack comes you can respond "I am the righteousness of God, get your hands off of my life!" So it has a two part function. It allow you to be bold before God and bold before the enemy.

Shoes of the preparation of the Good News of Peace
You should be prepared to share the good news of Peace, the nothing missing, nothing broken, everything whole and complete of God. The GOSPEL of PEACE is the KINGDOM of GOD. Jesus' primary stated reason for coming to earth was to bring in the Kingdom of God. God's kingdom overrides the worlds kingdom. God's kingdom is a kingdom of Peace/Shalom (Nothing Missing! Nothing Broken! Everything Whole and Complete!) This IS the gospel. Is being saved from sin and going to heaven the gospel? Yes! Is being delivered from Sin/Addiction and living holy the gospel? Yes! Is being healed from sickness the gospel? Yes! Is being delivered from poverty and made rich and fully supplied the gospel? Yes! Be prepared to bring the peace, the whole peace and nothing but the peace of God.

Shield of Faith to extinguish the arrows of the enemy
Faith is a shield. So often we think of faith as an active ingredient; as something with is causative, and it is. However, faith here is depicted as the shield not the sword. The sword if the word. But Faith is the shield. Faith helps us stand while the Word does the work. Faith is our shield against doubt and distractions. It helps us to overcome all of the Mark 4 things that prevent the Word from doing it's job.

Helmet of Salvation:
In order to pray effectively we must first have our minds outfitted with all that the salvation of God includes. We must know that we are saved from sin, sickness, disease, demons, and fear. We must realize that our salvation connected us to the blessing of Abraham and Deut. 28 and Psalm 103. You can't pray effectively unless you know what you are saved to and from.

Sword of the Spirit - The Word
The sword of the Word of God. The Word of God is sharp. It divides. It causes things to come and go. It is THE causative power of the universe. Without the word you are without the offensive power in your battle. You can pray all day with no effect. This is because prayer doesn't change things. The God who answers prayer changes things! (Nancy Dufresne) You can't just pray anything you like and expect it to come to pass. You must pray what God already said about it. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you in the Word where God has laid out the principles that govern that type of situation and then ask for his leadership and voice to guide you. Jeremy Pearsons said once that God showed him this in a powerful way. Something happened that was going to cost him some money. He was about to start quoting scriptures "Devil you owe me seven times what you stole...etc"  But instead he pulled back and asked, "God... how would you have me believe for this?" He was seeking FIRST the Kingdom of God... Only by seeking God in prayer and getting his Word (General and Specific) on a matter can you pray effectively about it.

Put it together
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our way of doing things we don't stop to think about what God wants to do. We ask him to bless our plan instead of asking him for His plan. Basically we need to pray in order to find out what we ought to pray about. Only after we are fully equipped with all the tools, armor, gifts, fruit... of God can we then pray effectively and cause lasting change with lasting results.

Prayer must be the primary activity of every believer; not a side note or something you do from time to time. Prayer must be THE activity of believers in Jesus. As prayer becomes effective and results manifest not only will the life of the believer become more solid and operate on a higher level, but people will benefit from it around you as well.

EMIC Men's Tailgate Party Sat 10/22/2011

TODAY:
Today I woke up late. I stayed up late last night to do some final touches on Banking Basics for Believers and thus woke up late. The Men's Tailgate party started at 9 and I woke up at 10. I almost didn't go. I'm not always one to socialize well in men's groups. I don't have much to say about sports or hunting and such. However I'm always glad that I went and so today I decided to go. I'm glad I did today too. I sat down with brisket and listened to people talk about some things. A conversation started about Iraq and Iran and I have quite a few things bubbling in me about that so I listened more intently. I didn't say half of what I was thinking but it was a start.

That got me started into a conversation with a man named Al. Al is a motivational speaker among other things and a man of God. It's rare that I meet someone with the passion for God that Al has matched by the backing of the Word. I meet lots of people with Word and no passion or passion and no Word. But he has both and it was refreshing.

Many other people came and went during the conversation and it ended up lasting from about 11AM to 3PM. I am now sunburned. But I deeply appreciated what everyone had to say and interject. Even Pastor Scott came by for a few moments. It was a very interesting event. We talked so long that the food was packed up and everyone gradually left as we all kept standing around talking. I failed to bring anything to write with and the whole things has become a blur. I am now trying to recall the things that stuck. I pray the Holy Spirit help me remember the important things that were pertinent to me.

NOTE TO SELF: Carry a recorder from now on or at least a pen and paper. Always expect to receive from God no matter where you are. Even a pocket notebook would be good no matter where you are. Even shopping God could give you and idea.

I know my spirit received more than my head can remember but I'm trying now to recap some of what we all said during our big round table impromptu discussion so that I can digest it. Quite a bit was said by many parties. The following are the things I walked away with to ponder. Anything could have been said by anyone. It's all a blur by the time I got back to write it down. Random notes from many conversations with several people.

TALKING:
Praise is done by speaking. Worship is done by being. The trees worship God by being His workmanship. You don't enter into worship because you worship by being who you are. Praise is speaking well of someone. So the correct response to "Praise God" is not to repeat back "Praise God" but to begin speaking well of God. "God you are wonderful. You always follow through on your word. etc...". Worship on the other hand is being who God created you to be. Interesting thought... bears more study and meditation.

Voice. Core Message. Don't parrot your teachers. Learn from them. But find your voice. What is it that YOU have to say?

A man is built as a sower of seed. The woman is built as a receiver of seed. She receives his seed, incubates that seed, and produces a harvest to return to him. This is true in spirit and nature. Therefore if you are married for any length of time you have together produced a harvest. If you do not like what you see don't blame the tree of your wife who helped incubate it. Blame yourself of the sower. I you sow hell into a woman... you are going to get back a harvest on that. If you sow LIFE into a woman you will see a harvest on that. You are the sower. If you have a bad tree, speak to it like Jesus did to the fig tree. (Not to the woman to the tree she produced from YOUR seed.) Give the process time to take to the roots both to uproot the old and birth the new.

When God created Adam he brought the animals to see what he would call them. The word "call" is recite. To say what God already said. He was training Adam to call things what God called them.

I am still feeling, and apparently still being perceived as a bit scattered. I have many things in me to do. As such I don't choose and then do nothing. That about hits the nail on the head. I must focus. Flavia told me that recently too. Choose something to do, focus on that until another direction is given.

Need to start compiling quotes I like or create. They help to lock in something you've learned. Most successful people have quotes that help define who they are, what they do, and why they do it. They help define something they've learned of value and put it into a memorable recall-able package.http://kogconcepts.wordpress.com/soul/quotes-and-sayings/ Just having a message title can be all you need to recall that whole message and re preach it at a moments notice.

You must BE something and not DO something. If you are known as Frank the Auto Mechanic and you loose your shop or get fired do you feel lost? If you do than your identity was founded in what you did rather than who you are. If you know who you are... what your core message and mission is. You will always know what to do and what to say in any situation. It doesn't matter what situation you are put into, that core will come out.

Forget titles. Pastor, Teacher, Motivator, Blogger, Author.... let people call you what they will. The question is how do you define those things for yourself. Then you can answer your question. Only then can you answer the questions others ask. If someone asks you... "Hey you sound like an XCV. Are you?" You can't answer that until they define XCV for you. Ask them what they feel an XCV (Pastor, Teacher, etc etc) is. Only after you get their question and definition can you give an answer. You cannot answer someone else's question with your definition. Find their definition and then answer accordingly.

We were talking about the presence of God. The Word of God. Praise. Worship. Dryness vs Soaked in the presence of God. You must know who you are IN HIM...

Jerry Savelle/Kenneth Hagin: The difference between me and you is that you have a swelled head and I have a swelled heart.

Praise and Worship is far more simple than it's made out to be. Singing can be used to do them but is not required. Praise is to speak well of. Worship is work. See Article :Work/Worship So to do what God called you to do, live how God called you to live, and BE who God called you to be is Worship. Thus you sing with an attitude of speaking well of God and being who he sent His Son to die for you to be.

There are systems to control and systems of control. Systems of control regulate outcomes, results, and order. Systems to control are manipulative, selfish, and without the Love of God. God is a God of order. He placed seasons on this planet to regulate temperature. He placed rules and regulation. Do this get this result. Those are systems of control. Some people or companies or countries introduce fear and violence in order to get people to do what they want. Those are systems to control and they never work. Dictators always fall, eventually. Because systems to control are out of order. As a leader we must recognize when we are doing something because it's God's right order of doing things in order to produce results vs when we do things in order to get someone to do what we want them to do outside of their will. God gave us dominion over the entire planet and every living thing save for one. We were not to attempt to exercise dominion over people. We can operate in a system of order. We can have hierarchy and leadership. But not manipulation.

There were so many things we talked about that I know I left some out. If it comes to me I'll add that too. It was a great day.

Soul Anchor

Daily Reading... Heb 6

1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works... 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. ... 17Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul...

I did it again... I make a commitment from this point forward that I recognize arguing as a sin and I refuse to do it any longer. Based on my history I know I am not going to be perfect at this. But I hereby acknowledge this as a sin in my life that needs to be corrected and will repent of it as often as I find it in me.

Yet again today I found myself arguing with some person of lesser wisdom and intelligence I've never met through comments on an article I disagreed with. It's not important that the article was written by an emissary of Satan or that I was right. That's the hard part. Being so right and doing it wrongly.

Arguing... the angry response of a person trying to win a verbal debate at the cost of the other person... caring more about winning the argument than winning the persons soul... is always wrong. You can be right and still be wrong in your rightness.

Decidedly LOVE and ARGUING are counter productive to each other. They cancel each other out. Just as Arguing with a person will drive love out so love drives arguing out. Which is why a soft answer turns away wrath. Jesus had some pointed things to say to the pharisees. He was pointed and clear in his disagreements with their religious traditions. But he managed, even then, to do it in love.

I must leave this base level, elementary discussion with people on things they refuse to understand. I cannot, for the sake of the Peace of God in me, lay again and again the foundational things for people who don't want to hear them. I cannot cast my pearls before swine that do not appreciate them.

Ultimately these arguments become distractions that steal Faith and Patience and therefore prevent me from entering into the promises.

So then... I turn from these childish things to see what Paul is trying to bring me into. Help grow Holy Spirit. What are you trying to say?

Hebrews 6 Bible in Basic Enlgish
17 So that when it was God's desire to make it specially clear to those who by his word were to have the heritage, that his purpose was fixed, he made it more certain with an oath18 So that we, who have gone in flight from danger to the hope which has been put before us, may have a strong comfort in two unchanging things, in which it is not possible for God to be false; 19 And this hope is like a strong band for our souls, fixed and certain, and going in to that which is inside the veil;

What Oath? In Genesis 15 we see Abraham ask God... How shall I know that you promise will come to pass? God has him bring a sacrifice and then in the course of the event God walks in the sacrifice to confirm it by blood. Jesus brought us into his covenant with the Father on the eve of his death. In Luke 22 Jesus shows us the signs of his covenant. His Blood and Body are the signs of our covenant. Two things which make it impossible for God to lie. By His bodies stripes we are healed. By His Blood we are made righteous. As I meditate on what he did by his sacrifice, his blood and body, I am able to have confidence in the promises of God that come through His covenant with the Father in which I am made a partaker through Him.

Soul... MIND, WILL, EMOTIONS. These are brought into anchor through HOPE which is sure through COVENANT SACRIFICE. I can be free of foolish arguments and petty bickering by calming my mind, will, and emotions in the assurance that GOD is GOD. HE is more interested in people knowing him than I am. He is their God not I. Leave convincing people to God. I will take up my job which is to LOVE people into the Kingdom. I may then "REST assured". This peace of God will reign in my heart. The LOVE of God can operate in me. I can be free to trust God to be God. Only then may I find the peace to turn away from foolish arguments and Love people into the Kingdom of God.

The Blood gives us Confidence in our Daddy!

EMIC Morning Men's Meeting. 10-19-2011
Covenant Notes:

Once again we talked about Covenant. There is a difference between "Blessing", "Covenant", and "Promise". They all intertwine but they are separate in their essence and use.

What was the purpose of Jesus' Life, Death, and Resurrection?
In the book "Heaven is for real" the author says the child was told by Jesus that the reason He came was to so that we can all go see His Dad.

Jesus just wants to introduce us to his Daddy. It's always about getting man in relationship and fellowship with His Daddy just like he has.

God has no need for a covenant. When God says "light be" the light continues to this day regardless of what anyone else says about it. God is not impressed by nor in need of being convinced or held to his Word. His Word ALWAYS comes to pass and it's ALWAYS true.

Note: I heard it once said by Creflo Dollar that if God said "Tomorrow morning there will be a three headed dog out by your trash cans" you'd better believe there will be a three headed dog out there, even though you ain't ever seen a three headed dog, when God says something it comes to pass. Kenneth Copeland has said that that if God shows up on Wednesday night and says "Isn't this a great Tuesday Morning!" You can't argue with him because just by saying it he moved all the clocks and realigned the sun and made it what he said.

So if God is convinced of His word, why did He create Covenant? We need it. It all comes down to confidence. The law brought confidence that we are sinners and not able to live up to God's standard. The Blood brought confidence in His Righteousness and love. Through Covenant we have confidence in what He says and we can stand on it despite any and all evidence to the contrary. Natural people see a Giant. We see Confidence that God can and will!

This is the difference between Abram who faltered and created an Ishmael and Abraham who was not moved by the deadness of his body nor of Sarah's womb. Something happened in a blood sworn oath that brought his focus into clarity and removed all doubts. We must become this clear in our blood covenant through Jesus!

Hebrews 8 The Message Bible
1 In essence, we have just such a high priest: authoritative right alongside God, 2 conducting worship in the one true sanctuary built by God. 3 The assigned task of a high priest is to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and it's no different with the priesthood of Jesus. 4 If he were limited to earth, he wouldn't even be a priest. We wouldn't need him since there are plenty of priests who offer the gifts designated in the law. 5 These priests provide only a hint of what goes on in the true sanctuary of heaven, which Moses caught a glimpse of as he was about to set up the tent-shrine. It was then that God said, "Be careful to do it exactly as you saw it on the Mountain." 6 But Jesus' priestly work far surpasses what these other priests do, since he's working from a far better plan. 7 If the first plan - the old covenant - had worked out, a second wouldn't have been needed.8 But we know the first was found wanting, because God said, Heads up! The days are coming when I'll set up a new plan for dealing with Israel and Judah. 9 I'll throw out the old plan I set up with their ancestors when I led them by the hand out of Egypt. They didn't keep their part of the bargain, so I looked away and let it go. 10 This new plan I'm making with Israel isn't going to be written on paper, isn't going to be chiseled in stone; This time I'm writing out the plan in them, carving it on the lining of their hearts. I'll be their God, they'll be my people. 11 They won't go to school to learn about me, or buy a book called God in Five Easy Lessons. They'll all get to know me firsthand, the little and the big, the small and the great. 12 They'll get to know me by being kindly forgiven, with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean. 13 By coming up with a new plan, a new covenant between God and his people, God put the old plan on the shelf. And there it stays, gathering dust.

THE symbol of the new covenant is the Blood of Jesus.

Note: Maybe instead of Crosses and Fishes we should start posting pictures of Blood Drops on the back of our cars and on our hats and T-Shirts?

In the origin, the genesis, of man... Adam the first man brought NOTHING to the table. He hadn't done or said anything. He had no breath. He had no life force. He had nothing to offer. He was in fact a finely sculpted pile of dirt when God first said: MAN BE! Be in our image after our likeness! Have dominion! God blessed man and that blessing was the life force that gave him breath. Man did nothing to earn the blessing and can do nothing to earn it to this day. All God has every wanted is to be a loving Father to us. Not a cold distant ruling type Father. But a loving Cuddly Daddy! God never would have had a serious thought if it hadn't been for sin. He would have been fun and games and enjoyable work, productive fulfilling work all the days of eternity. He will be that again someday. And for the Blessed he is that today. Our Brother Jesus died to introduce us to our Daddy God!

Is the Covenant Conditional or Unconditional? There were some interesting thoughts on this. The OT is different than the NT. However the point was made that we most not confuse "Promise" and "Covenant" Promises are often conditional. "If you do this I will do this." This is the structure of most promises. However Covenant overrides behavior many times. "I said I would and I will despite you!"

The Covenant, old and new, is a Covenant of Blessing. It contains promises in it.

I suppose this bears the question what is the Covenant and what are it's primary promises? How do you distinguish the two?

Time always runs out as we get really running... A few more notes...

Schedule Permitting:

Next meeting is on 11-2-2011 Lance McCune will be there to talk about getting involved as Christians in Government. Among other works, Lance works with CAPA (Clergy and Police Alliance) uniting clergy and police officers.  We look forward to having him.

ALSO, due to Holidays, NO MEETING on the third Wed of December. Which is December 21st

A few other random notes:

1.
Good note to men:
As men we are often production oriented. In our lives and marriages we must remember:

  • We can't DO to get with God.
  • You, as a man, are NOT the provider, God is!

Chris Wilder said: "If mamma ain't happy she can just get happy..." because it's not about getting our way it's about God getting his way. Neither man nor woman can claim superiority in a relationship. There must be mutual submission to God first and each other second. As the man submits to God and serves his wife in Love and the wife submits to God and serves her man in Respect the relationship will flourish.

2.
How do you distinguish between Covenant, Promise and Blessing? Is there a simple easy answer? Study that.

3.
Interesting question that spawned discussion and bears further study on our own time: Atonement.

When was the blood of Jesus applied and how does that affect us today?

Study the original process of atonement under the OT law. It was a foreshadow of the Sacrifice of Jesus. He is the High priest who administers the atonement as well as the sacrificial lamb. Study that out. See also the word: Propitiation. 1 John 4:7-21 and 1 John 2:1

Developing an IN HIM mindset Confession!

In the Lord Jesus the Anointed One and through His Anointing I am:

I am a new creation and His workmanship.(2Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15, Eph 2:10) The veil is taken from my mind so I see clearly! (2 Cor 3:14) I am anointed and sealed, triumphant and called with a holy calling. (2 Cor 1:21, 2 Cor 2:14, 2 Tim 1:9) I am abounding in the knowledge of Christ and every good thing is in me. (2 Pet 1:8, Philemon 1:6) God's will in Christ for me is to rejoice, pray, and be thankful in all things. (1 Thess 5:18) There is NO condemnation in me! (Rom 8:1) I am made alive, even if I die I should rise again! (1 Cor 15:22, 1 Thess 4:16) The Lord will perfect that which concerns me! (Psalms 138:8 )I am a son of God! I am loved! He is my Father! He loves me and wants good things for me as any good father does. He wants me to succeed and prosper and be in good health. He gives me richly all things to enjoy! () I abide in Jesus, I allow His words to abide in me! I ask what I will, because his Word which is his Will abides in me, and it is done for me! I am IN CHRIST, in the Anointed One and in His Anointing! I have become the righteousness of God! I am His Righteousness! Not by my works but by His! As the righteousness of God I am under NO condemnation. I am more than a conqueror! I can stand in the presence of THE Holy God, Creator of the universe with total confidence because of His Son's sacrifice! Therefore I can stand before any man, woman, and any angel or devil with even more confidence. I am under no condemnation and I have the victory! I stand before Him alone! It is through Him I live and move and have MY being! I am of God! I am HIS CHILD! Greater is He who is in me than ANYONE or ANYTHING else! I have the greater one in me! I can face any situation. 11,000 people can fall on either side of me and I stand untouched! I can do ALL THINGS through the Anointing of the Anointed One which strengthens me! All things is all things! There is nothing I cannot do or accomplish is if I always factor in the anointing! I have been given power to obtain and create wealth! Everything I have, am, and do is empowered to prosper as I obey and connect to my covenant!

Some in NKJV and some in BBE

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God... John 15:7 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 and 21 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new...21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Romans 8:1 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:37 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Acts 17:28 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ 1 John 4:4 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Psalm 91:7 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Philippians 4:13 13 I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me. 1 Timothy 6:17 17 Give orders to those who have money and goods in this life, not to be lifted up in their minds, or to put their hope in the uncertain chances of wealth, but in God who gives us in full measure all things for our use; 2Cor 5:17 17 So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new. Gal 6:15 15 For having circumcision is nothing, and not having circumcision is nothing, but only a new order of existence. Eph 2:10 10 For by his act we were given existence in Christ Jesus to do those good works which God before made ready for us so that we might do them. 2 Cor 3:14 14 But their minds were made hard: for to this very day at the reading of the old agreement the same veil is still unlifted; though it is taken away in Christ. 2 Cor 1:21 21 Now he who makes our faith strong together with you, in Christ, and has given us of his grace, is God; 2 Cor 2:14 14 But praise be to God who makes us strong to overcome in Christ, and makes clear through us in every place the value of the knowledge of him. 2 Tim 1:9 9 Who gave us salvation, marking us out for his purpose, not on account of our works, but in the measure of his purpose and his grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal… 2 Pet 1:8 8 For if you have these things in good measure, they will make you fertile and full of fruit in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Philemon 1:6 6 That the faith which you have in common with them may be working with power, in the knowledge of every good thing in you, for Christ. 1 Thess 5:18 18 In everything give praise: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Psalms 138:8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. Deut 8:18 But keep in mind the Lord your God: for it is he who gives you the power to get wealth, so that he may give effect to the agreement which he made by his oath with your fathers, as at this day.

Deuteronomy 28 BBE1 Now if you give ear to the voice of the Lord your God, and keep with care all these orders which I have given you today, then the Lord your God will put you high over all the nations of the earth:2 And all these blessings will come on you and overtake you, if your ears are open to the voice of the Lord your God. 3 A blessing will be on you in the town, and a blessing in the field. 4 A blessing will be on the fruit of your body, and on the fruit of your land, on the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herd, and the young of your flock. 5 A blessing will be on your basket and on your bread-basin. 6 A blessing will be on your coming in and on your going out. 7 By the power of the Lord, those who take arms against you will be overcome before you: they will come out against you one way, and will go in flight from you seven ways. 8 The Lord will send his blessing on your store-houses and on everything to which you put your hand: his blessing will be on you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. 9 The Lord will keep you as a people holy to himself, as he has said to you in his oath, if you keep the orders of the Lord your God and go on walking in his ways. 10 And all the peoples of the earth will see that the name of the Lord is on you, and they will go in fear of you. 11 And the Lord will make you fertile in every good thing, in the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your cattle, and the fruit of your fields, in the land which the Lord, by his oath to your fathers, said he would give you. 12 Opening his store-house in heaven, the Lord will send rain on your land at the right time, blessing all the work of your hands: other nations will make use of your wealth, and you will have no need of theirs. 13 The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; and you will ever have the highest place, if you give ear to the orders of the Lord your God which I give you today, to keep and to do them; 14 Not turning away from any of the orders which I give you today, to the right hand or to the left, or going after any other gods to give them worship.15 But if you do not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God, and take care to do all his orders and his laws which I give you today, then all these curses will come on you and overtake you: 16You will be cursed in the town and cursed in the field. 17 A curse will be on your basket and on your bread-basin. 18 A curse will be on the fruit of your body, and on the fruit of your land, on the increase of your cattle, and the young of your flock. 19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out. 20 The Lord will send on you cursing and trouble and punishment in everything to which you put your hand, till sudden destruction overtakes you; because of your evil ways in which you have been false to me. 21 The Lord will send disease after disease on you, till you have been cut off by death from the land to which you are going. 22 The Lord will send wasting disease, and burning pain, and flaming heat against you, keeping back the rain till your land is waste and dead; so will it be till your destruction is complete. 23 And the heaven over your heads will be brass, and the earth under you hard as iron. 24 The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust, sending it down on you from heaven till your destruction is complete. 25The Lord will let you be overcome by your haters: you will go out against them one way, and you will go in flight before them seven ways: you will be the cause of fear among all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your bodies will be meat for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth; there will be no one to send them away. 27 The Lord will send on you the disease of Egypt, and other sorts of skin diseases which nothing will make well. 28 He will make your minds diseased, and your eyes blind, and your hearts wasted with fear: 29 You will go feeling your way when the sun is high, like a blind man for whom all is dark, and nothing will go well for you: you will be crushed and made poor for ever, and you will have no saviour. 30 You will take a wife, but another man will have the use of her: the house which your hands have made will never be your resting-place: you will make a vine-garden, and never take the fruit of it. 31 Your ox will be put to death before your eyes, but its flesh will not be your food: your ass will be violently taken away before your face, and will not be given back to you: your sheep will be given to your haters, and there will be no saviour for you. 32Your sons and your daughters will be given to another people, and your eyes will be wasted away with looking and weeping for them all the day: and you will have no power to do anything. 33 The fruit of your land and all the work of your hands will be food for a nation which is strange to you and to your fathers; you will only be crushed down and kept under for ever: 34 So that the things which your eyes have to see will send you out of your minds. 35 The Lord will send a skin disease, attacking your knees and your legs, bursting out from your feet to the top of your head, so that nothing will make you well. 36 And you, and the king whom you have put over you, will the Lord take away to a nation strange to you and to your fathers; there you will be servants to other gods of wood and stone. 37 And you will become a wonder and a name of shame among all the nations where the Lord will take you. 38 You will take much seed out into the field, and get little in; for the locust will get it. 39 You will put in vines and take care of them, but you will get no wine or grapes from them; for they will be food for worms. 40 Your land will be full of olive-trees, but there will be no oil for the comfort of your body; for your olive-tree will give no fruit. 41 You will have sons and daughters, but they will not be yours; for they will go away prisoners into a strange land. 42 All your trees and the fruit of your land will be the locust's. 43 The man from a strange land who is living among you will be lifted up higher and higher over you, while you go down lower and lower.44 He will let you have his wealth at interest, and will have no need of yours: he will be the head and you the tail. 45 And all these curses will come after you and overtake you, till your destruction is complete; because you did not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God, or keep his laws and his orders which he gave you: 46 These things will come on you and on your seed, to be a sign and a wonder for ever; 47 Because you did not give honour to the Lord your God, worshipping him gladly, with joy in your hearts on account of all your wealth of good things; 48 For this cause you will become servants to those whom the Lord your God will send against you, without food and drink and clothing, and in need of all things: and he will put a yoke of iron on your neck till he has put an end to you. 49 The Lord will send a nation against you from the farthest ends of the earth, coming with the flight of an eagle; a nation whose language is strange to you; 50 A hard-faced nation, who will have no respect for the old or mercy for the young: 51 He will take the fruit of your cattle and of your land till death puts an end to you: he will let you have nothing of your grain or wine or oil or any of the increase of your cattle or the young of your flock, till he has made your destruction complete. 52 Your towns will be shut in by his armies, till your high walls, in which you put your faith, have come down: his armies will be round your towns, through all your land which the Lord your God has given you. 53 And your food will be the fruit of your body, the flesh of the sons and daughters which the Lord your God has given you; because of your bitter need and the cruel grip of your haters. 54 That man among you who is soft and used to comfort will be hard and cruel to his brother, and to his dear wife, and to of those his children who are still living; 55 And will not give to any of them the flesh of his children which will be his food because he has no other; in the cruel grip of your haters on all your towns. 56 The most soft and delicate of your women, who would not so much as put her foot on the earth, so delicate is she, will be hard-hearted to her husband and to her son and to her daughter; 57 And to her baby newly come to birth, and to the children of her body; for having no other food, she will make a meal of them secretly, because of her bitter need and the cruel grip of your haters on all your towns. 58 If you will not take care to do all the words of this law, recorded in this book, honouring that name of glory and of fear, THE LORD YOUR GOD; 59 Then the Lord your God will make your punishment, and the punishment of your seed, a thing to be wondered at; great punishments and cruel diseases stretching on through long years. 60 He will send on you again all the diseases of Egypt, which were a cause of fear to you, and they will take you in their grip. 61 And all the diseases and the pains not recorded in the book of this law will the Lord send on you till your destruction is complete. 62 And you will become a very small band, though your numbers were like the stars of heaven; because you did not give ear to the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And as the Lord took delight in doing you good and increasing you, so the Lord will take pleasure in cutting you off and causing your destruction, and you will be uprooted from the land which you are about to take as your heritage. 64 And the Lord will send you wandering among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other: there you will be servants to other gods, of wood and stone, gods of which you and your fathers had no knowledge. 65 And even among these nations there will be no peace for you, and no rest for your feet: but the Lord will give you there a shaking heart and wasting eyes and weariness of soul: 66Your very life will be hanging in doubt before you, and day and night will be dark with fears, and nothing in life will be certain: 67 In the morning you will say, If only it was evening! And at evening you will say, If only morning would come! Because of the fear in your hearts and the things which your eyes will see. 68 And the Lord will take you back to Egypt again in ships, by the way of which I said to you, You will never see it again: there you will be offering yourselves as men-servants and women-servants to your haters for a price, and no man will take you.

Use the Power of the Word, while making mention in Prayer!

COME:
Philemon - The whole book.
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers
Hebrews 1
3...upholding all things by the word of his power...

HEAR:
How often do I pray for me? How often do I mention ME, I, and MYSELF in my prayers? And how often do I mention other people by name? Paul had this heart, the heart of God, for people. He wanted to see people changed and delivered and helped to become all they were created to be. He stayed up late one night (Book of Acts) just to make sure that the group he was with really got all he could give them. He didn't say to them: "oh well, I need my rest..." He was always concerned with people. My world has centered around me long enough. I must apply the teachings of God to myself first, before anyone else, for correction must start with me. But I must go beyond that and take His teaching to the world.

God is upholding all things by the Word of his Power. The Word is the Power of God. The Power of God is the Word of God. They are two heads on a coin. I am called, among other things, to be a teacher. That is one who saturates, dissects, and them disseminates in order to implement those things in the lives of others. A good teacher doesn't just SAY things. A good teacher lives them and then educates through personal experience. They can also go beyond talking and demonstrate that which has been taught. I know a man who was given a job as a flight teacher at a college. They removed someone with a much larger degree and placed this young man in the teachers seat instead. This is because they would rather have someone with a smaller degree and more flight hours than a person with a larger degree and less flight hours. This young man is passionate about flying. He wanted a plane before he wanted a car. He can teach from real world experience.

If the power of God is not flowing through me, why should anyone want to hear what I have to say? The answer is they shouldn't. Demonstrate the power and earn the right to be heard. This is a good note for all pastors and teachers. If the power of Jesus to heal the sick and raise the dead and cast out poverty is not demonstrated through your pastor... find a new pastor.

DO:
I will re:tool my prayer time, and be far more specific and purposeful about my praying for others, by name as often as I am able.

My Prayer:
Father. I will not ask you to give me a new heart. That is an Old Covenant request. Your word says that you have shed your Love abroad in my heart.Romans 5:5 Bible in Basic English puts it this way.
5 And hope does not put to shame; because our hearts are full of the love of God through the Holy Spirit which is given to us.
Therefore I will learn to communicate and walk in your Spirit and thereby extract and put to work the Love that is Your Love which is already in my heart. I don't need more of it. I have all of it for I have all of you. I simply need to begin to put it to work by Faith!

Soak, Scrub, Rinse, and Repeat

COME:
Titus 2:15
15 These things speak , and exhort , and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Titus 3:4-6
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared , 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done , but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through JesusChrist our Saviour;

Zechariah 4:6
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying , This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying , Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

HEAR:
We are not made new by our works or trying harder. We will only come up against a wall each time we try a little harder. Our righteousness couldn't save us and it won't keep us holy either. We are saved by Mercy and Grace. We must learn not only to NOT let others despise us, we must learn not to despise ourselves. When we sin, fail, miss the mark, or otherwise fail to live up to this image we have on the inside of our perfect self that we are striving to attain to be in God... We must not allow ourselves to despise who we are now because it fails to live up to who we want to be. This causes a cycle which then has us thinking, imagining, and saying that we always fail and never succeed. This then causes us to sow and then reap the one we do not want to be. It is not by our might or power that we live for God but by God's Holy Spirit.

Nothing we "DO" no "Plan of action" will make us any holier or better people than we already are. Only allowing the Holy Spirit to saturate us through his Word and Presence will wash us and regenerate us. This process takes time, like something that has been dirty for a long time, soaking in cleaning solution, being scrubbed and then soaking some more. Our spirit is regenerated but the Soul and Body need renewing until that day we are re-created with new bodies. My wife found these sea shells that were all crusty with lake residue as all sea shells are. She soaked them in bleach to make sure they were clean. In the end not only did the surface scum come off but also the extra hard parts started to come off with a little scrubbing revealing the clean, soft, pearly white inside. It was beautiful. They more she soaked, scubed, rinsed, and repeated this the more amazingness was revealed. We must learn not to work harder or try harder but to simply soak, scrub, rinse, and repeat daily if we want to be conformed to the Image of Jesus.

DO:
Each day, I must come to the Word and Prayer. Not to try to learn something new or get some grand revelation trying to get a little bit more knowledge that will put me over or get an A on the test... but to SOAK in the presence of God through active dialogue in prayer and SCRUB with the word of God in the mind. RINSE through praise and worship. REPEAT daily!

My Prayer:
Father, I thank you for this amazing morning. The rain outside washing away the heat of the summer. The time off to work on other things and meditate in your Word. The new vision and life you've put into me. I want to always remember and understand that all I need to DO is to SOAK, SCRUB, RINSE, and REPEAT... Thank you!
