The Gospel of the Kingdom of God- Expounded

January 01/07/2010
Mathew Chapter 5

Jesus here begins what has become known as "The Sermon on the Mount". This title is a describes where he was at the time he preached this message. We found out in chapter four that Jesus went out teaching and preaching "The Gospel of the Kingdom".

All the teachings of Jesus are most accurately understood with this framework in mind. Everything Jesus taught, everything He did, was to bring to life the Kingdom of God in mankind. When he sent his disciples out his instructions were to tell people that: "The Kingdom of God is at hand". So what is this kingdom, how does it work, what does it mean, where is it? This is the point of all that proceeds during the entire life's work of Jesus on this planet during his earthly reign, and that of his apostles and followers after Him.

This is NOT a random compilation of things he said that were nice truisms or good food for thought. This was a piece by piece breakdown of the details of the Kingdom of God and how to live that out. There is a word in Hebrew Word that bears on this subject; HaLaKaH from the root HaLaKH to Walk:

Jesus was showing us how to walk this life in the Kingdom of God out. So what was he having us walk out?

The Blessing. The Blessing was given first to Adam, then to Noah and finally to Abraham to Jesus to You and I. This Blessing empowers anyone who walks it out to prosper. Ultimately Jesus teaches us that LOVE is the key to the Kingdom of God. LOVE unlocks the blessing and LOVE destroys the works of the Devil. The key points that apply to me at this time:

:9 Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the Sons of God.
  • I am, more than ever at this stage of my life, learning to be and called into the role of peacemaker. Not with guns or swords but with words, seasoned with The Word. At home with my two boys constantly winding each other up, and me with them, and also at the job. Being that rock in an unstable and unsure environment. Being steady, in the midst of a national struggle to keep finances straight. I am called, not to argue and defend, but to come along side and comfort as best as I am allowed to do so.
:22-23 Cursing ANY ONE, at ANY TIME, for ANY REASON is High Treason against the Commandment of LOVE.
  • It is a violation of the highest order and it will stop the flow of the blessing DEAD in your life until it is dealt with. Jesus doesn't think it's funny to put down, ridicule, or make fun of anyone, in or out of their presence! It's serious offense and it's not funny.
:37 Yes or No... Don't Swear!

  • This also means No Excuses. If someone asks me to meet with them... I should NOT come up with the thirty reasons why I can't right now. Just say No or Yes. AND don't make that call until you are sure. You may want to say NO and the Holy Spirit may lead you to do it anyway. You may WANT to say YES and the Holy Spirit will say NO. So don't just jump out with an answer either. You may be bound to it, and not like the results. If you have no direct leading on the request at the time it is made inform the person you will get back to them as soon as you can. Then make it a point to pray about it, research, check your calender and check with those you are responsible to: Spouse, Boss, whoever. Then come back with a definite yes or no.
:19 Whoever DOES AND TEACHES

  • Everyone in the Kingdom is required to hear it, learn it, DO it, and Teach it to others. NO exceptions. Everyone will do their part at different levels and in different functions. But no one is exempt from growing in their walk in the Kingdom of God enough to Teach others to do the same. That's true one on and one and for those who teach thousands.
Those are the things I picked up for my life today... there is SO much more I wanted to say... but that will have to be another entry on another day.

Jesus' M.O.

Jan, 6th , 2010

Mathew 4

Jesus' M.O. Modus Operandi, or His Method Operation:

  • What stands out to me while reading this chapter in Mathew 4. The chapter starts with a dialogue between Satan and Jesus. Satan asks "IF" to cause doubt, and Jesus replies "IT IS!" to remove all doubt. This should show us that the Word of God is our FIRST place and FINAL authority. Any question ever asked should lead to "What does the Word say? It says: XYZ! Therefore that is settled."
So in looking at the begining of Jesus' Ministry I see an interesting pattern develope.
  • I see first of all Jesus begins his ministry with a move. He moves from his home in Nazareth, to a new house in Capernum. I believe he actually moved out of Mary's home and away from his half brothers and sisters for the simple reason that he knew his life was about to get busy and chaotic at times, and He didn't want to subject them to that. He also needed to make a clean break from Jesus Mary's son to Jesus the Prophet. He says elsewhere that a prophet is not accepted in his own home town, and when Mary and his half brothers and sister came to get his attention he drew a line saying that ANYONE who does the will of the Father was his mother and brother and sister. So we can learn from this that sometimes you need to make a clean break from who you were to who you are, even if who you were was a good thing. New Seasons can require new mindsets.
  • Then Jesus Message is: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand." This was a consistent message, he never altered and never changed. You see him tell his disciples when sending them out to do the same thing.
  • Jesus' Offer: Follow Me... and I will make you fishers of men! It is still true today. You cannot follow Jesus without a burning desire developing on the inside of you to reach others with His Truth. You can follow religion and stay by yourself, but you cannot follow Jesus without a growing and burning desire to reach others.
  • Jesus M.O.:
    • Went- No standing still, you cannot sit in the church waiting for them to come to you. You MUST go out among the people and reach them. TV is a great and even nessasary outreach, but it doesn't cut it alone, you MUST be out among them.
    • Taught in the Church- Services are important, having a regular meeting place is important. You must feed you fish once you've caught them.
    • Preached a consistent message: The Gospel of the Kingdom. All Holy Spirit inspired sermons fall under this catagory. Anything that doesn't is probably just readers digest.
    • Healed ALL Kinds- He Demonstrated the Authority AND Power of this Kingdom He was speaking about. He expected his Fishers-of-men to do the same!
  • This resulted in MANY coming to Him and recieving from Him.
My ministry must pattern after His:
  • Go Among the People
  • Teach them the Word
  • Be Consistent in my message
  • Demonstrate His LOVE, Authority, and Power!
                      Good Thoughts for all believers,

Fitting to Fulfil God's BEST in 2010

Tuesday 01/05/2010

Mathew 3

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to
15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit
prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[c] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice
came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

So I ask myself this question every time I read this scripture, but today I stopped and waited on the Holy Spirit, who has been assigned by Jesus to lead me into ALL truth (John16), this question again. For it seems to me that the answer should be something I would want to know.

WHY? Why would Jesus be baptized? Why would that make a difference? How does a sinless man getting baptized for the remission of sins, which was Johns stated calling, fulfill anything?

The answer was simple and profound. First of let us note that this is the VERY FIRST act of Jesus the adult we have recorded in the scripture. Water to wine may have been in first "miracle" but this was his first act. I want to know don't you?

The act of baptism doesn't remit your sins. It was a symbolic foreshadowing of Jesus' Death, Burial, and Resurrection. It means dying to YOU. It means dying to YOUR will, and YOUR way and taking on GOD'S will for you and your life.

God: I'll give you my life, which I haven't done very good with anyway, and I'll take yours instead. It is a symbolic ceremony marking the trade you make with God!

So watch this: Jesus, knowing that this is the mark of his ministry start and will now begin the count down to the cross... calls those things that be not as though they are. He says I'm going to die, and raise again, and I'm going to do it to bring righteousness to ALL who will accept it. I'm going to say yes to that NOW, HERE, and the begining of my ministry!

The Garden was a struggle and it was the final throws of putting down the flesh, but it started right here on day one of his minstry. This was not only his ordination by God. It was his accepting and aggreeing to the terms of this New Covenant from the start. He looked forward and saw you and I standing in his washed blood and free of sin and walking out God's perfect will in 2010.

Jesus was saying yes to:
  • Sleepless nights praying
  • Crowds drawing on and draining him
  • Storms, conflicts, and persecutions
  • responsability of a full time staff of 12, part time of 70-120
  • Grueling Schedule
  • Friends and betrayals
  • Eternity with men and women grateful for his gift
  • Delight in seeing men enjoy life abundantly
  • God's Perfect Will for Cir AD 30

In Fact, Jesus wasn't just saying yes to God's will for His life. He was saying yes to God's will for MY life... here in 2010!!!

Thank you Jesus for saying YES to me! I say YES to you to! What can I do to serve you more in 2010?

God's Perfect Will

Monday 01/04/2010

Mathew 2

Joseph and Mary took personal risks and sacrifices obeying God. They had to take a bad reputation from those who wouldn't understand. Joseph was given the care of a child that wasn't "His". Neither understood the FULL impact of what this would mean to them, which is evident in how amazed they were at his 8 day old presentation at the temple and all the words spoken over him by two prophets.

Yet here they are... obeying God... walking in HIS perfect will for thier lives. As a result they received:
  • Provision
  • Protection
  • Direction
  • Foreknowledge
MOST of us in the church world today walk around half blind until a problem comes  up and then say:

"Well... God...  You know what is going on here... what do I do now?"

At least we hope most of us are at least that spiritual. Many would repond:

"OH GOD!... OH JESUS!... What am I going to do? Why did you let this happen?"

But is there a better way of walking in God's will for 2010 then EITHER response? What if God brings the Provision FIRST... THEN the Direction... through these Protection and Foreknowledge and as a result you were half way to Eygpt before catastrophe hit!

That is my goal for 2010! Walk in God's will, so clearly that I am provided for, led by the Holy Spirit, and LONG GONE before the problem tries to come my way!

Here's to HIS perfect will for 2010!

Stand Your Ground!

Sunday Service 01/03/2010

Stand Your Ground!

Ephesians 6:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore...

The word "stand" is the Greek word: Hestemi. It means:

  • Set- as in concrete
  • Resolved
  • Resolute
  • Stubborn
  • In Military Application: Man your post, stand/remain steady at your post
  • In Essence: Be a BULLDOG! Aggressive, Persistent, and Determined to stand against ALL the wiles/schemes/plans of the Devil!
There are VERY bad things coming for those who are in the World this Year. For many, like myself, this will be among the best years of our lives. However, for many this will be among the worst years. Finances, Governments, Health Care, Natural Disasters, and Crisis of many kinds are coming on a global scale. There are many going to be running for anything that smells stable. There we will be... the GLORIOUS Church...

We will:

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

We WIll be that light the world needs in dark and terrible times. We will be that house built on a rock totally undisturbed by the storm beating down on it. We will be the light on the hill, the salt, the preserving agent. They will come running and we will have an answer for all who ask us:

What is this HOPE you have... in the middle of all this chaos? How can you NOT be worried?

Winston Churchhill said:
"For a nation to try to tax or borrow themselves into prosperity is as a man who stands in a bucket and then tries to list himself up by the handle!"

This Nation, like others, has done just that. That stupid system of finance, based on rules that had to over rule the bible and the US constitution to come about is crashing around us. It is coming down. They will need answers and we will be there to provide for them.

One area I found that has been a weak spot with my ability to stand in life is my emotions. I get "hooked" by kids screaming or customers refusing to listen or understand. I get mad and frustrated because something isn't going the way I wanted it to. Enough is enough. In 2010 I refuse to be disturbed about anything or by anyone! I will be that rock, stable no matter what you say or do.

Word of the Lord to the Church of EMIC, by Pastor George:
"After the dust settles on 2010 you will still be STANDING!"

Standing is NOT a weak term. Not a term of struggle. It's a term with the image of a strong marine being attacked by a child sized enemy. He doesn't smile or laugh. He just stands, strong... cool... collected... able to act... but not in a rush about anything... It's the term and image of an enforcer! More on that later!

Follow The Blessing!

01/01/2010

2010: A Journey through the Word

Mathew 1:1-17
So all the generations from:
Abraham to David were 14
David to Babylon were 14
Babylon to Jesus were 14
  • God Blesses Adam... he breaks covenant. God restores him, but we never hear from him again.
  • God Blesses Noah... Line Broken again.
  • God Blesses Abraham... Issac, Jacob... David...Jesus... Me!
God didn't give up after the fall, nor did he cease to work with man despite his having to keep a distance. He keeps trying over and over to establish that link to the Blessing he started the planet with. That blessing has made it to me!

Galatians 3:29
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

However it is my responsability to pass it on. Yours TOO!

God is looking for people who will train others. Starting at home. How many powerfull ministries have had children who did nothing for God? How many have had children that did far more? The latter list is shorter, but shouldn't be. Your children, natural and spiritual, should be standing on your shoulders and using your acheivements as a platform to build from. They will have thier own callings, but no matter what God calls them to do, it will take the BLESSING to do it!

In 2010 I'm going to look for ways to impart The Blessing into others, starting at home, then work and church, then anywhere else I can find an open door!

Pssssst... Hey you.... Pass it on!

EMIC New Years Eve Service

Last night was amazing... The anointing and power of God flowed into Eagle Mounting International Church! EMIC There were so many things said I couldn't recount them all here. Service started at 8 pm and we left in the car just after 1:23 am!

The Highlights:
  •  Have faith in God!
  • 2010 will be the Best of times and the Worst of times!
If you are not listening to God and walking with him you be tossed about by the wild things going to hit the country this year. Natural disasters, terrorist attacks, politics, etc. We are witnessing the collapse of the Babylonian system of socialism that's been attacking this country for 110 years!

  • Jeremiah 17:5

Curse is the man who's trust is in man, or in man's natural ways of operation.
     VS
Blessed is the man who Hopes and Trusts and who's source is in GOD!

  • These are the tools of faith:
    • I Believe
    • I Will
    • I Take It
    • I Have It
    • I Thank you For IT!
    • I Forgive!
These are the vocabulary that you should develope in 2010!

  • Two phrases from Oral Roberts Message "The 4th Man" that changed many lives:

"I will never bow the confession of my mouth!"

"What you compromise to keep you will eventually loose!"

  • The commitments Kenneth and Gloria made 43 years ago and still stand by are:

  1. Never ask anybody for a place to preach.
  2. Never preach anywhere based on a financial arrangement.
  3. Never ask anybody for $ to meet my needs.
  4. Never put this ministry in debt or ever borrow $ again!
These were and are the keys to thier success in God. These prevent compromise and contamination.

  • Christianity is not a religion, but it's had religions made out of it.

  • You can change what happens in your:
    • Nation some of the time
    • Community most of the time
    • Home ALL of the time!

Get ready for an amazing year! The BEST year ever for those walking and and OBEYING the voice of God. The WORST year for those trusting in Man's Broken System!
